Sir
I have the honor to inform you that a deputation of the Trustees of the Royal Park
waited this day on the Hon. the Minister of the Lands Department, to urge the issue
of the Crown-deed for the Park, with a view also to place the trustees in the position,
so soon as the grant is made out, to give at once every attention to the application
of your Society.

See also M to W. MacFarlane, 17 June 1876. The Victorian Agricultural Society had requested that an area of approximately 25
acres of the Royal Park should be transferred to them. When the crown deed for the
Park was issued to the Trustees, this land was duly excised from the Park. However,
it was never ceded to the Agricultural Society, which was instead granted land in
Flemington, and was eventually sold.
I have the honor to be
Sir
Your obedient
Ferd. von Mueller
Hon. Sec. to the Trustees
W. Macfarlane Esq
Secretary to the Victorian Agricultural Society.

M to W. H. Archer, 21 August 1876, included discussion of the proposal and other issues relating to the integrity of
the Royal Park.
