I have been desired by the Trustees of the Royal Park, in reply to your letter addressed to the Hon. T. J. Sumner our chairman, to inform you that my colleagues would be ready to receive a deputation from the Agricultural Society on Tuesday next, the 20th. inst. at half past two p.m. in the office room of the Acclimation Society, 69 Temple Court.

The Victorian Agricultural Society wished to propose that an area of about 25 acres of the Royal Park facing Flemington Road at the city end be made over to the Society as an Agricultural Show Reserve (minutes of the meeting of the Trustees, 16 June 1876).
