Ihnen meinen besten Dank, sehr geehrter Herr Blytt, für Ihre Güte mir Ihre schönen Schriften gesandt zu haben, für welche ich dankbar eine Gegengabe mache. Sie scheinen ( Nolte) nicht gefunden zu haben, welche sicher bei Ihnen vorkommt, aber leicht in der kahlen Form mit verwechselt werden kann, worüber ich weitläufig in Trimen's Journal vor 3 Jahren berichtet habe.

Können Sie mir gütig sagen, ob unser Freund Ascherson oder ich selbst Priorität haben in der Vereinigung von Blitum mit Chenopodium. Ich nannte vor mehreren Jahren das in Caruel's giornale Chenopodium Blitum, unter welchem Namen es auch in meiner Abhandlung über Nutz-Pflanzen in dem Band unserer Acclimation-Society für 1873 vorkommt.

Although there are no inscriptions, it is probable that Blytt sent the copies of Blytt (1869) and Blytt (1870) that are still in the Library at MEL, which also holds the second (1874) and third (1876) volumes of M. Blytt & A. Blytt (1861-76); the library lacks the first volume (1861).

for which I gratefully offer a reciprocal gift. You do not seem to have found ( Nolte), which should surely occur in your area, but in its bare form can easily be mistaken for ; I have written at length about this in Trimen's journal 3 years ago.

Would you be so kind as to tell me if our friend Ascherson or I has priority in uniting Blitum with Chenopodium?

Ascherson's reduction was in Ascheron (1864), p. 572.

Several years ago I changed to in Caruel's journal,

Under the heading 'Lavori del Dr Mueller sulle Chenopodiacee', Nuovo giornale botanico italiano, vol. 2 (1870), p. 314, there is a note of an undated letter, M to T. Caruel, 1870 (in this edition as 70-06-00b), in which the change is reported, but without giving a detailed rationale.

and it is also found under this name in my publication on useful plants in the volume for 1873 of our Acclimatisation Society.

Ascherson (1864). There is an incomplete copy at MEL, but it is not known when it was added to the Library.
