[Asking for both names of Woods from W. Australia]
2
At the meeting of the Royal Society of Tasmania on 13 July 1875, the presentations to its Museum included 'Twenty-four named specimens of wood from Western Australia, squared and polished' from the newly appointed Governor of Tasmania, Frederick Weld (Papers and proceedings of the Royal Society of Tasmania for 1875 (1876), p. 37. Weld had served as Governor of WA from 1869 until his transfer to Tasmania (ADB). It is possible that Agnew forwarded a list of the names supplied by Weld and requested vernacular and/or botanical names, but no reply has been found that confirms this possibility.
