Dear Sir,
I have the honor to inform you that a
Moonlight Entertainment
of this Society will be held on the Evening of
Wednesday
,
the 20th instant
,
in
St. James's Park, Hawthorn,
in the Grounds of
H. R. Harwood, Esq.,
who has most kindly placed them at the disposal of the Liedertafel for this occasion.
The spacious Grounds are pleasantly situated on the river bank, secure from intrusion,
and within a few minutes' walk from the Hawthorn Railway Station and the Terminus
of the Richmond Omnibuses respectively; from both these points, Visitors will be guided
to the spot by directions placed along the way.
In addition to Part Singing by the Liedertafel, arrangements for Dancing will be made,
and the Grounds illuminated. Refreshments (including Tea, Coffee, &c.) will be obtainable
at town prices, and Visitors accommodated with Seats as far as possible.
To meet the unusual expenditure, a charge of 1s. 6d. will on this occasion be made
for Gentlemen's Tickets (Members included); Ladies admitted free, by ticket. Members
may introduce their friends,
but no one will be admitted without such introduction.
You will contribute to the success of this effort and facilitate the arrangements
of the Committee by ordering your Tickets beforehand. These may be obtained either
from
Messrs. Nicholson and Ascherberg
,
21 Collins Street East, or from the undersigned, at 37 Flinders Lane West.
