Sir
At a meeting of the Trustees of the Royal Park, held this day, it was reported that
the Brahmin cow in the zoologic reserve had been killed by ferocious dogs, and that
also a grazing cow had been injured. My colleagues desired me to bring these occurrences
and the frequent invasion of the Park by dogs not under any control of visitors, to
the notice of your department, and to solicit that you would kindly afford such protection
through the local police force, as circumstances may permit, especially as there is
even danger to human life, if large and ferocious dogs are allowed by their owners
to roam about unchecked.
I have the honor to be Sir
Your very obedient
Ferd von Mueller
Hon. Secr. T. R. P.
