I am just working on the & allied plants, dear Dr Story, for the 7th vol. of the flora of Australia.

Bentham (1863-78), vol. 7. M's treatment of and allied plants, worked up before specimens were sent to Kew for Bentham, is in B74.08.01, pp. 203-14. See Lucas (2003) for an analysis of M's working habits in preparing material for Bentham.
Would you with your usual goodness get me kindly a few fruitheads well ripe of the near you.

Although there are three (undated) specimens of operculata collected by Story in MEL (MEL73497, MEL73503 and MEL73494), no collector is mentioned in the account in B74.08.01, p. 204 to support the statement that it grows well in many Tasmanian regions.
Perhaps there are 2 species in your vicinity.
Regardfully your
Ferd von Mueller
