On my journey to the ranges W. of Cape Otway, I write you a few lines, dear Dr Lindberg,
to thank you for your friendly letter of 10 Dec,
which came here about a week ago. My mind is now relieved of anxiety, concerning
the mosses, which I verily believed to be lost. Dr Regel wrote me also lately, that
one parcel was despatched to me back through his establishment.

Letter not found.
Let me hope that you are quite recovered from the injury of your patella.
My London Agents are Mess. Blackith & Co., Cox's Quay, Lower Thames Street. But Dr
Hooker is also frequently in the way of sending me anything. At his venerable age
Dr Hampe will not be able to work much more in Bryology. So you can have my future
collections of mosses for elaboration, should you be in the way of turning them soon
from your hands again, as they successively arrive. I have also to make arrangements
for the issue of the bryologic portion of the 8th vol of the Flora Australiensis
through the aid of one who like you works specially on this group of plants.

I am very grateful for the labors, which you & Lacoste bestow on my collections.
With regardful remembrance your
Ferd. von Mueller.
