My dear Baron,

It is our intention to devote a reasonable sum to the purchase of works in Botany to be ordered by the outgoing mail.

Will you favor me with a list of such as you consider it desirable we should possess. We have at present in the Library on

	Vols
Agriculture	310
Botany	659
Horticulture	194

a total which seems a moderate proportion to the total of purchased books in our collection
