8/10/73.
May I ask you, reverend and dear friend, whether the enclosed nut, which came here
with Sydney coal, is known to you, and whether any records are extant in books concerning
it. I have only 2 or 3, and the dissection of more than one, which may give no result,
should be avoided.
Among Leichhardt's plants some are marked in 1843 "Archer's station". Have you a recollection
what place that might have been 30 years ago?
2
‘Durundur’, the most northern station at the time in the Moreton district in what
is now Qld.
The copy of your adress,
so kindly intended for me, will probably come by next post. It will be a discourse
of great value, like everything that emanates from you, and I shall treasure it both
for the intrinsic value and for the condescending friendship of the author.

With kindest remembrance
Ferd. von Mueller.
