Letter not found. The text given here is from Bulletin de la Société d'acclimatation, series 2, vol. 10 (1873), pp. 906-7. The letter is dated to October as the latest likely date that it could have been sent
to have been reported at the meeting of 12 December 1873. It is possible that the
letter covering the volume was not from M himself, but on his behalf by his London
booksellers, see n. 2.
[Mr. Drouyn de Lhuys then announces that Baron Von Mueller, Director of the Melbourne
Botanical Garden, has just given the Society a copy (six volumes in-8 °) of his
Flora australiensis
;
he tabled one volume of this magnificent work.]

That is, the first six volumes of Bentham (1863-78). The sixth volume was published
on 23 September 1873 (TL2) and must have been sent direct from London, as M had not
seen the complete volume by December; see M to G. Bentham, 1 December 1873 (in this
edition as 73-12-01a). The five earlier volumes were tabled at the meeting of 22 May 1874 (Bulletin de la Société d'acclimatation, series 3, vol. 1 (1874), p. 337.
