I have to acknowledge the receipt of your note of the 27th ultimo

Letter not found; but see register entry, in this edition as 73-05-27a.

and to thank you for the suggestions therein contained, relative to the taking, by Barometrical measurements, the heights of the principal Hills in the interior, I have however already given full instructions to the Surveyor as to this important point. — with best wishes —
