P. W. Tait, Honorary Secretary of the Camperdown Cricket Club, wrote to A. R. Wallis,
Secretary for Agriculture, on 9 May 1873: 'I am instructed by the Committee of the
Camperdown Cricket Club, to apply to the Minister of Agriculture, for a supply of
trees and shrubs from the Botanical Gardens, Melbourne, for the purpose of planting
in the Cricket Reserve at Camperdown' (I73/9272, unit 750, VPRS 44/P, Public Record
Office, Victoria). M was required to resubmit all such requests on the new form that
had been devised for this purpose.

of Camperdown
requests that he may be supplied with the following plants
from the Melbourne Botanic Garden for Cricket Reserve at Camperdown
LIST.
