In my principal letter through the Colonial Office, dear Dr Hooker, I have already apprized you of my having sent by the P. & O. Steamer a small box with samples of products of tar, of which I now enclose a list.

M to J. Hooker 21 April 1873 (in this edition as 73.04.21b). The list is no longer associated with this letter, but an annotated copy of the catalogue to the Victorian Exhibition at the London Exhibition of 1873 has a list of tar specimens, see notes with M to J. Hooker, 21 April 1873, in this edition as 73-04-21b.
The Company has taken the case free to Southampton.
With best regards
