I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your letters of the 20 & 24 Ultimo
and to thank you for the list of mosses of the Chatham Islands which are in time for
publication in Vol V of the New Zealand Institute.
The seeds of the Kentia from Lord Howes Is, you have kindly sent, have not yet come
to hand.

The mosses had been named by G. E. L. Hampe (see M. to J. Hector, 20 January 1873 (in this edition as 73-01-20a)) and were printed at the end of the paper read to the Wellington Philosophical Society
in July 1872 (B73.05.01).
