i.e. Purchas.

to submit to the Board of trustees my proposition of taking again charge of the plants in the old Cemetery, I shall gladly attend to their order, before the hot weather causes a ruin among the plants and before the season of sorting annuals is lost.

No record of such an offer by M has been found. See however A. Purchas to M, 4 September 1872 (in this edition as 72-09-04b), and A. Purchas to M, 11 October 1872.
