Sir
I have the honor to inform you that your letter of 19th March was submitted to the
Trustees of the Royal Park at a meeting held yesterday, when I was directed to express
a hope of the Trustees that the intended plantations on the cricket ground within
the Royal Park would be formed this season, in order that not a year for the purpose
would be lost.
As Director of the Botanic Garden of Melbourne I am prepared to furnish the needful
young trees, provided that your ground will be fully prepared in the course of May,
with which month the distributions of plants from my nurseries for public institutions will cease for this season.
Trusting that finally all the obligations of the Brunswick Council towards the Trustees
of the Royal Park will be carried out
I have the honor to remain

M to F. Miles, 26 February 1872, reminded the council of its obligations to complete fences and tree planting.

Hon. Secr. Trustees Royal Park

Town-clerk of Brunswick
