I am much gratified, dear Mr Gore, that Dr Hector kindly sent a parcel or set of the
plants of the Chatham Island for my naming from Mr Travers new collection.
It did not arrive yesterday with your letter, but whenever it arrives it shall have
my attention.

The plants arrived later on 19 April; see M to R. Gore, 19 April 1872 (in this edition as 72-04-19a).
I will communicate with Mr Travers
after the arrival of the plants, so that according to the extent of novelty the form
of publication may be decided on.
