Melbourne Botanic Garden 26/2/72
Sir
I have been instructed by the Trustees of the Royal Park at a meeting held this day, to draw your attention to the circumstance that as yet the inner fences for the cricket ground of the Brunswick municipality within the Royal Park have not been formed, and that also the promise of effecting tree plantations around the ground remained unredeemed.
1
M to F. Miles, 4 May 1872, had offered to provide young trees.
The Trustees wish me to remind you that on these conditions depends the continuance of the permission of occupation of the ground, and my colleagues feel sure that your Council will not allow the new season for planting to pass without the improvements mutually agreed on, and in accordance with my letter of 28th April 1871 being carried out
I have the honor to be Sir
Your obedient
(signed) Ferd. von Mueller
Hon Sec. Trust. Royal Park
The Town-clerk of Brunswick.
