This letter was first registered in the Chief Secretary's Department as A72/1653,
then transferred to the Lands Department on 3 May 1872.
13/2/72.
Sir
I have the honor to bring under your notice, that several Shire Officers have expressed
a desire, that a small pamphlet with descriptions and illustrations may be published,
to identify the thistles in cases of prosecution under the thistle act.
If the work could be carried out in the Gov. Printing Office, such a publication could
be easily issued from manuscripts furnished by myself and from woodcuts; the latter
could be made under my supervision by Mr Grosse of Mr Ferres establishment.

M's letter was noted by the President of the Board of Land and Works, but the proposed
pamphlet did not proceed.
I have the honor to be,
Sir, your obedient servant
Ferd. von Mueller

The honor. the Chief Secretary
