Mit dieser Monatspost, edler Herr, sende ich eine Anzahl Algen von Nord-Ost-Australien an Sie ab. Obwohl die meisten bekannt sind, werden diese aus dem Bereich Australiens Ihnen doch sicher willkommen sein; auch möchte sich das Eine oder Andere Neue darunter finden. Soweit wie ich die Postverhältnisse verstehe, habe ich das Packet frei gemacht. Sollten Ihnen aber dennoch Unkosten daraus entstehen, so bitte ich Sie, mich davon zu unterrichten, damit solche ersetzt werden.

Irgend etwas Besonderes aus dieser kleinen Sammlung werden Sie gewiss mit gewohnter Güte veröffentlichen.

Although most of them are known, coming from Australia, they will surely be welcome to you; also the odd new one might yet be found among them. As far as I understand the mailing provisions, I have sent the parcel post-free. But if expenses should arise for you from it, please inform me so they can be refunded to you.

I am sure that, if there is anything special in this small collection, you will publish it with your usual kindness.
