Professor Von Mueller
My dear Sir,
I should feel extremely obliged if you could afford me any information concerning enclosed.

No idetails of the enclosed found.
It is here called the "Poison plant" and has caused great destruction amongst cattle and horses — We have had a very dry season; and the grasses are naturally dried almost to tinder, and animals are driven to eat any green stuff they can get at. They seem to eat of this with avidity, but it invariably occasions death in a few hours; being to all appearance a powerful inflammatory poison — No one here appears to be at all acquainted with it
I am, my dear Sir,
Yours very truly,
D. H. Maitland
