The above Committee
are anxious to give prominence to Phytology in the course of lectures about to be
commenced at the Museum, having reason to believe that the Artizan Class will receive
such instruction, as can be given in a lecture, on that branch of science with avidity.

The exceutive committee of the Industrial Museum.
As a sum of money has been placed at the disposal of the Committee for lecturing,
they would feel indebted if you would consent to deliver a lecture on this subject
on or about the 22nd of June

M delivered a lecture on 'Forest culture in its relation to industrial pursuits',
on 22 June 1871. It was later published as B71.13.03. See also M. Clarke to M, 19

I enclose you a printed list of the scheme proposed by the Committee
and shall feel obliged by an early communication from you
