Sir
I have the honor by direction of the above Committee to call your attention to my
letter of the 17th November last
No 76 I.T.M
in which I informed you that the Committee had decided to engage Mr Hoffmann as Phytological
Chemist under your direction, such engagement to date from the
7th of November
and notified to you that the Committee definitely declined to pay Mr Hoffmanns salary
for the months of September and October as they considered that his duties during
those months were departmental
