I have the honor to acknowledge your letter of the 23rd September
requesting remuneration for work done by Mr Hoffmann, and a further advance of £20
from this Committee, and in reply am directed by the Chairman to refer you to my letters
of the 3rd of August and 27th of July last
in which the Committee express their regret that they are unable to advance moneys
to supplement the expenses of your Department
