Probably the 'answers to M. Drouyn de Lhuys' questions' referred to in M to J. McCulloch,
22 March 1870, the likely source of the extracts subsequently published in Raveret-Wattel
(1871) (see M to the Société Impériale Zoologique d'Acclimatation, 22 March 1870 [in
this edition as 70-03-22a]).

M's various essays in the
Official record
of the Intercolonial Exhibition of 1866-7 (B67.13.02, B67.13.03, B67.13.04, B67.13.07,
B67.13.08, B67.13.09, B67.13.10); see M to J. McCulloch, 22 March 1870 and M to the Société Impériale Zoologique d'Acclimatation, 22 March 1870 (in
this edition as 70-03-22a).

See report of the meeting of the Acclimatisation Society of Victoria held on 8 March
1870 (
Leader
, 12 March 1870, p. 8), in which it is recorded that the meeting was attended by a
member of the French society, 'Mons. Bedel', and that M, who was not in attendance,
'forwarded a long and full report upon the timber resources of this colony and other
parts of Australia, which is to be transmitted to the Imperial Acclimatisation Society
of Paris, in answer to their application for such information'. M's report was presumably
what became B71.06.02.
