Lassen Sie, edler Freund, mich meinen besten Dank aussprechen für Ihre Gewogenheit, welche Sie mir wieder erwiesen durch die Sendung der schönen Samen Sammlung &c., welche unlängst im besten Zustand hier ankam. Als eine kleine Gegengabe sende ich heute an Herrn Edm. Goeze zu Coimbra einige Sämereien an Sie ab, annehmend, dass dieser Freund in Portugal in engem Tauschverkehr mit unsern Landsleuten steht. Die frischen Samen der Alexandra Palme sind darunter (Ptychosperma Alexandrae F. v. M.), welche hoffentlich keimfähig bei Ihnen anlangen werden. Solche sind schwer zu erlangen. Der Baronin von Huegel, mit deren Verwandten in England ich sehr befreundet bin, spreche ich mit dieser Post mein tiefes Beileid aus über den Verlust des auch mir freundlich zugeneigten Barons von Huegel. Das Hinscheiden dieses Edelmannes muss namentlich in den Horticulturkreisen Österreichs schmerzlich empfunden werden.

Der bot. zool. Gesellschaft werde ich die fehlenden Bände meiner Werke senden, soweit solche noch erlangbar sind, sobald ich wieder eine Kiste "Miscellanea" an den guten Dr Sonder zu befördern habe.

my deepest sympathy in the loss of Baron von Huegel, who was also kindly disposed towards me. The death of this nobleman must be particularly deeply felt in Austria's horticultural circles.
