I have the honor, by direction of the Trustees of the Melbourne General Cemetery, to acknowledge the receipt of 130 valuable plants in pots for the purpose of embellishing the Cemetery,

and to convey to you the best thanks of the Board of Trustees for the same.

At a meeting of the Trustees on 11 May 1870, the gardener's report was read, 'stating that 130 plants in pots had been received from the Botanic Gardens' (Minute book 1).
