Allow me to remind you, dear Mr. Odgers, that the boys
have not yet arrived. The Garden becomes a wilderness, if I do not soon get the aid
of the boys, this being my most busy season.

i.e. from the Industrial Schools. M's letter was referred to the Inspector of Industrial
Schools, George O. Duncan, who replied on 14 May 1870 'the boys will be down on Saturday
