[Director solicits permission to communicate to Australasian & Leader short notes on contents of 5th vol Australian plants

Bentham (1863-78), vol. 5, was issued in October 1870 (TL2). M had received sheets as they were completed. His note included comments on the treatment of Myoporinae, i.e. pp. 1-30, which he acknowledged with thanks in M to G. Bentham, 15 May 1870. Other sheets were in the mail to him when he wrote, see G. Bentham to M, 15 April 1870.
M's letter was returned to him on 11 May 1870, minuted with the Chief Secretary's approval. The notes were published in the Australasian and the Leader as B70.05.03 and B70.05.04 respectively, and were also reprinted elsewhere: see list under the bibliography entry B70.05.03.
