I have the honor to submit for your approval or consideration the bye-following notice
in reference to the distribution of plants from the botanic Garden during this autumn,
and if you should deem the continuation of this system advisable, I would beg leave
to suggest, that the notice, as in former years, for two or three weeks in succession
may appear in the Gov. Gazette.

Enclosure not found. The notice, announcing the availability of plants, cuttings and
seeds for distribution from the Botanic Garden 'to public institutions, during the
month of May next' was published in Victoria. Government gazette, no. 21, 1 April 1870, p. 525 (B70.04.02). Applicants were 'requested to furnish
sketches of the ground prepared for the reception of the plants with a view of facilitating
the selection', and 'means for packing and transit' were to be provided by the recipients.
The notice was republished in the issues of the Gazette for 8 April (p. 569) and 14 April (p. 625).
