Sir
I have the honor to inform you that your letter of the 4th inst. was submitted yesterday
to a meeting of the Trustees of the Royal Park when the following resolution was passed
"That the application for extension of the ground of the Brunswick Cricket Club, made
by the Brunswick Borough Council, be not approved, in as much as the Club have already
the permissive occupation of an area of 6 acres for the purposes of Cricket and other
sports, and that the Trustees have no intention of interfering with the present privileges
of the Club as long as the fences and ground are kept in proper order and the rules
of the Park are duly observed."
I am desired by my colleagues to add, that they would not deem it in conformity with
the duties of their trust were they to recognize the the
principle of alienating portions of the Park for special purposes, and were they
to establish thereby precedents under which gradually portions after portions of the
Park would be no longer accessible to the general public.

Word repeated.

Sir
Your obedient
