["Subscriber" (Alexandra).—Dr. Von Mueller has been good enough to inform us that the plant you enclose is the so-called caper spurge ( ), indigenous to south Europe, and found also in Britain, but there only rarely. It is biennial, and never rises to a greater height than 3ft. or 4ft. It is poisonous. In Australia the plant is merely immigrated.]
