Letter not found. The text given here is from Bulletin de la Société Impériale Zoologique d'Acclimatation, series 2, vol. 6 (1869), p. 700. The letter is dated to October 1869 as the latest
likely date that it could have been sent to have been reported to the meeting of the
Society held on 10 December 1869.
[Mr. Coste adds
that it follows from the documents he has recently received from Mr Von Mueller that
the Salmon is now definitively established in Australia, and has already completed
the various phases of its life-cycle.
