Since I saw you, dear Sir Redmond, I have put several vegetable substances into order
for the new industrial museum,
but, I am very much in want of glasses with a wide orifice, so need as many glass
frames and glass-cases, as are obtainable.
1
Barry had requested items for display in R. Barry to M, 3 August 1869.
It seems there are many glass-cases, which might be emptied in the Exhib. Building,
and if so, I would eagerly seize on
any
such case. I further would recommend that some printed labels be got for tickets to
the objects. How are these to be obtained? Will the trustees make an advance? or will
the trustees give me authority to have them ordered and the account within a limited
sum be rendered to them? Some methodus operandi will need to be adopted, and as I
really can not afford the time to go much to & fro without necessity.
On Wednesday I have to attend a council meeting of the board of Agriculture and I
can after that come to the Exhibition-Building to receive any glassces,
which may become empty. I will ask my colleagues also allow the whole agricultural
collection & the soils-samples to pass into the general industrial collection

M has left out some letters in going from one line to the next.
