Letter not found. The text given here is from a report of a meeting of the Sale Borough Council held on 10 June 1869 (Gippsland times, 12 June 1869, p. 3).
[From Dr. Von Mueller, as to supplying plants for the Botanical Gardens, Sale (31st May), and requesting that some person be authorised to call on him for the same. Cr. English moved "That this letter be referred to the Gardens Committee, a meeting of that committee to be called for next day". Carried.]

The next item of correspondence reported was 'From Messrs Law, Somner and Co. (8th inst.,) intimating that they had forwarded the plants received by them from Dr. Mueller, and sending account of charges for the same, 10s 6d.'
