In reply to your letter, received this day,
I beg to inform you, that I will be ready to supply such plants as are still available
here for the bot Garden of Warrnambool, altho' the supplies were distributed since
the first of this month and are now in most instances exhausted. Be so good to appoint
an agent in Melbourne to receive the plants, to provide for packing & transit, and
please furnish him with a rough sketch of the ground, indicting what space has been
actually
prepared
for the plants. I suppose the garden is goatprove and that water is available in the
summer.

M's letter was read at a Council meeting held on 8 June 1869. Read was directed to
write to T. Denney instructing him to receive the plants and forward them to Warrnambool
(Minute book 7, p .52;
