Yesterday, dear Mr Fitzgibbon, the rabbits were again seen at the boathouses. Perhaps
my first letter to you may have been lost,
in which I brought this annoyance under your notice and sought your protection, as
I cannot imagine that the occupant or occupants of your ground would continue to keep
such animals in opposition to any distinct order from the City Council. If once these
animals have escaped in[to] my extensive pine park, it will be impossible to get free of them again, and I feel sure, it cannot be your wish to see thus hereafter great injury done to my plantations.

M to E. FitzGibbon, 28 April 1869.
your regardful
Ferd. von Mueller
