MS found with a n undated specimen of Ascarina lucida var. lanceolata (MEL 2391218) from Samoa.
Powell addressed a meeting of the Victorian Auxillary to the London Missionary Society at the Independent Church, Colins Street, Melbourne on 10 March 1869, and is listed as a passenger with his wife on Dandenong that departed Melbourne for Sydney on Thursday 11 March 1869 (Argus, 10 March 1869, p. 8; Argus, 12 March 1869, p. 4). The letter is dated accordingly.
