Letter not found. The text given here is from a report of a Council meeting of the Acclimatisation Society of Victoria, from which M was absent, held on 9 March 1869 (Argus, 10 March 1869, p. 5).
[A very interesting article on artificial nests, constructed for the purpose of facilitating the breeding of birds in Germany, Switzerland, and France, and sent by Dr. Von Mueller, was read. It had been extracted from a French paper (the Journal de Bordeaux), and was part of the report on birds' artificial breeding, made to the Imperial Society of Acclimatisation in Paris, by M. Millet.

The extract from the Journal de Bordeaux has not been identified, but Millet showed and discussed artificial birds’ nests at a meeting of the Société zoologique d'acclimatation on 3 April 1868, where he showed a variety of styles of nest used in Switzerland, Germany and France ( Bulletin de la Société impériale zoologique d'acclimatation , series 2 vol 5 (1868) pp 358-9).
