Yesterday dear Mr Sprigg at the Meeting of the Royal Park's Committee I submitted
your letter in which you tendered your resignation as the Official upon whom the surveillance
of the Park so long devolved. The Trustees aware of your having accepted a more important
position accepted your resignation, but wished me at the same time to express their
regret at having lost the services which you so zealously and judiciously rendered
on their behalf and desire me to also convey to you their best thanks for your uniform
attention to their wishes, and congratulate you to the highly honorable position you
now hold

As Town Clerk, St Kilda. M to J. Grant, 27 October 1868 (in this edition as 68-10-27a) requested that E. Lissingol, Sprigg's successor Secretary, be appointed a Crown
Bailiff to enforce the regulations of Royal Park.
I am dear Sir
Your very regardful
F. v M.
Hon. Secr. to the Trustees of the Royal Park
G. Sprigg Esq.
