I shall arrange my large collection of South African now according to your views. I now would wish to ask you, whether you intend to work up also the Australian species. It occurred to me, that perhaps you wish to do so, and then it might be important, that you should have the use of my normal collection, which is far larger than that which I sent to the Kew Museum and to our friend Dr Sonder. Indeed it was my intention to work on next year, when I have to prepare the for the fifth vol. of the Flora of Australia.

More particularly when I was in West Australia last spring, I examined much of the Material, available there. Indeed my collection of from various parts of Australia is very rich. Should therefore any investigation of the Australian kinds be contemplated by you it would be well, that we should act in concert with each other.
Your very regardful
Ferd. Von Mueller.
