Letter written by E. B. Heyne and signed by M.
Botanic Garden
14 August 1868
Sir
After my return to the garden I instructed Mr Heyne to wait on you merely with the intention of pointing out, that there was an unexpended balance of the first half of the Votes for Publishing Works on Australian Plants or for Forage placed under Authority of expenditure, to which, as you suggested, the advance I applied for this morning might perhaps be temporarily charged. I trust you will not consider my having done so as a desire of unduly urging this matter.
I have the honor to be
Sir,
your obedient
Ferd. Mueller
