Letter of thanks not found. The text given here is from a report of a meeting of the Sebastapol Borough Council held on 8 June 1868 (Ballarat star, 9 June 1868, p. 4).
[Cr Edwards stated that he and others had … waited on Dr Mueller, and received such shrubs, &c., as were suitable for transplanting at the time.

The town surveyor 'reported having received from Dr Mueller 230 plants, consisting of pine, ash, sycamore, weeping willow, mallow, English broom, laurel, pomegranate, some Indian plants, &c., and they were placed in the Recreation Reserve, where a small nursery had been formed.'
He spoke in terms of commendation of the manner in which the deputation had been received. Cr Kent moved that the best thanks of the council be accorded to Dr Mueller for his kindness. Cr Whittaker seconded the motion; carried.]
