Letter not found. The text given here is from 'Current topics' in the Geelong advertiser, 10 June 1868, p. 2. It is part of an item objecting to the Bannockburn Shire Council using M to supply plants, rather than obtaining them from Daniel Bunce at the closer Geelong Botanic Gardens. The item suggests 'But that the members of the Council are all staid sober men, it might be imagined one or two of them wanted a trip to Melbourne at the expense of the Council under the pretext of fetching the trees.'
[A letter was read at the Council meeting yesterday from Dr. Mueller, stating he would be ready in a week or two to deliver plants and shrubs to the agents of public bodies who might wait upon him at his office in Melbourne, and this letter was in answer to an application made by the Council.
