Garden 20/5/68.
Sir
I have to thank you for your communication, dated 18 May and just received,
in reply to which I beg to inform you, that Ferry-Keeper Brandon, has since my last
communication
effected some repairs of the walks and improvements to the river-bank near his place.
I shall consider it my duty to inform you of any future necessity of improvement,
should the ferry-keeper again be inattentive to the needful measures for the safety
and convenience of the public.

John Yeoman, Crown Land Bailiff, was instructed to report on the matter and his report,
dated 28 May 1868, in which he found the path in question 'very good and substantial
… clean and safe and partly fenced', was forwarded to M on 5 June 1868. The report was marked by M: 'The dangerous state of the path near Brandons ferry
was rendered safe
after
my final report to the hon the Commissioner of Lands & Survey, my repeated remonstrances
to the Ferry-Keeper before were
not
attended to before. Ferd Mueller 5/6/86.'
I have the honor to be, Sir
your very obedient
Ferd. Mueller
