Sir,
I have the honor, by direction of the Trustees of the Melbourne Genl. Cemetery,
to request that you will favor them with the following plants for choice sites in
the Cemetery, viz: 1 doz Torulosa
and 2 doz. Lambertiana;
I am also directed to state that the Trustees would thankfully receive any choice
plants for placing in the ground round the Burke and Wills monument,
which the Trustees intend to ornament as effectively as possible

The Trustrees resolved at a meeting held on 13 May 1868 that this application should
be made to M (Minute book 1).

A large granite monument had been erected in 1864 on the tomb of Burke and Wills at
the Melbourne General Cemetery.
