I have the honor to solicit, that you will be pleased to sanction the publication
of the adjoined notice
in the Governments Gazette in accordance with the usage of former years. The charge
of the original outlay for pots is now for the first time proposed.

Grant minuted his approval for M's request on 24 February 1868, and the notice was published in
Victoria. Government gazette, no. 31, 17 March 1868, p. 605 (B68.03.07. It announced the availability of plants,
cuttings and seeds for distribution from the Botanic Garden to 'strictly public institutions
... during the month of May next … For pot-grown plants the cost price of the pots
will require to be refunded'.
