I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter dated from Queenscliffe
the 28th Utlimo
In reply I am directed by the Council to express their regret at hearing that your
absence is caused by illness, and they hope that the change of air may prove so beneficial
as to restore you to [much] health and enable you again to cooperate with them in their labours.

The report of the meeting of the meeting of the Council on 30 July included a comment
from the President that 'he was sorry to inform the council that Dr. Mueller's absence
was caused by illness, he having been obliged to leave Melbourne for a time on account of the state of his health' (Argus, 31 July 1867, p. 5).
