Dear Prof Gray.
In rearranging the immense extraaustralian Herbarium here I find several omissions in H.f. & B. gen. vol. I & II
1
Bentham & Hooker (1862-83), vols 1, 2.
& I am thus induced to ask, whether you have furnished or published any additions or corrections to this good & important work. I have sent some notes to the authors & in D.C. pr. XV J. Müller has furnished also supplemental data.
2
J. Müller (1866).
Would it not be well you rendered any observations of yours briefly accessible. Thus an Australian phytographer has but little knowledge of American plants &c. Let me ask thus for instance what is (Rafinesq. herb. 23 (1833) quoted by J. Müller? What is ?
3
Rafinesque (1832-3), pp. 177-9; Liebmann (1854), pp. 93-5. Both and Forchhammeria are included in the 'Genera exclusa' list in J. Müller (1866), p.1258. The text ends well away from the bottom of the page, without valediction.
